About us

Youth Hub Christchurch is New Zealand's first purpose built Youth Hub complete with supported housing facilities. We are located at 109 Salisbury Street in the central city. The Hub provides everything Christchurch's young people need to improve and maintain their mental health from supported housing and health and support services, to opportunities for recreation and creativity.

Stage One which is open now includes a wrap-around youth services building, outdoor activities courtyard and supported housing wing for 22 young people.

An Activities and Events Centre is under construction and will open in early 2026. We continue to fundraise to build another wing of supported housing and communal spaces including including a café, creative arts space, art gallery, carving workshop and quiet gardens and spaces for rest and relaxation.

Youth Hub Christchurch – Te Hurihanga ō Rangatahi – is celebrating its first birthday today, marking a year of providing safe housing, vital youth services and vibrant communal spaces for rangatahi (young people) in the heart of the city. New board member: Hugh Ryan

Hugh is a 19-year-old student studying History, Political Science and International Relations, and European Union studies at the University of Canterbury. Born and raised in Christchurch, he is the President of UN Youth Canterbury, and co-coordinated the 2023 Christchurch Charity Ball which fundraised for UNICEF. Welcome Hugh!
