On Friday 9 May the Crusaders held their Hall of Fame charity lunch in support of the Hub.
It was a wonderful event at the Te Pae Convention Centre with more than 900 attendees.
We are pleased to report that the raffle and silent and live auctions raised an incredible $133,603 for us!
The money will go towards buying furniture and equipment and helping to get free events up and running for our Events and Activities Centre which is being constructed and will open next year.
We are proud to partner with the Crusade with Heart Foundation as they share a commitment to improve youth mental health and wellbeing and we applaud the Crusaders for showing they are more than just a sports team.
Chair of the Youth Hub Trust Dame Sue Bagshaw says: “Being the new kid on the block and having limited resources means we’d never be able to put on a fundraising event of that size and scale. Not only does it help us raise critical funds to continue building the Youth Hub, but it helps us to raise awareness about Youth Hub Christchurch and the issues facing rangatahi today."
A big thanks also to BurntWood and Electric Air for donating prizes for the silent auction.
