About the role

Reporting to the Chair of the Youth Hub Trust, this role is responsible for setting up the day-to-day running of the Youth Hub. You will help to foster a collaborative community and culture by focussing partnering organisations on a common goal and facilitate how the organisations work together, ensuring skilled leadership, providing training opportunities, and being flexible as the need evolves.

Pre-opening, you will ensure the facility is ready operationally by developing all relevant policies and procedures required to ensure a safe and efficient environment for all users. Once open you will become the key point of contact for all anchor tenants and casual users of the spaces.

We are committed to creating impactful change, and as the first Manager of this unique facility you will lead with integrity and wear many hats. The Youth Hub is a 24/7 facility, and as such this position is expected to be available outside of ‘normal’ working hours.

This role is one-year fixed term to ensure the facility to setup to run efficiently, collaboratively, and effectively to meet the strategic goals and values of the Youth Hub Trust.

About you

You will be an exceptional and collaborative leader, who is as comfortable around young people as you are around the board table. As a new facility and a new business model we are looking for someone who is happy to roll up their sleeves and get involved in all aspects of the Hub, whether that’s helping unpack furniture, managing volunteers on a public open day, or creating strategic business plans alongside our Board. We’re looking for an innovative leader with strong problem resolution and decision-making skills.

The ability to build relationships and foster collaboration is essential to ensuring the Youth Hub is successful. You need to be comfortable in your ability to work in a bicultural environment, to understand positive youth development and appreciate what is involved in operating in a diverse, youth-centric, and culturally safe environment.
