We are currently going through a resource consent process. This will probably cost us about $200,000. We are setting up a fighting fund to surmount this last hurdle and we need your help.
We believe that the 20% of young people who have not had the same opportunities as others deserve a quiet neighbourhood that provides a safe environment. At the same time, it needs to be accessible to all young people in Christchurch and in close proximity to the centre of the city and the bus exchange – in short 109 Salisbury Street.
The Hub will provide accommodation for up to 40 young people in town houses and in sheltered housing. They will have supportive wraparound services, including creative and recreation activities in community spaces. They will also have opportunities to become job ready and to work at the onsite urban farm which will also help to improve their mental health.
